| Mountain Biking can be even more Enjoyable |
|
When planning a long mountain bike excursion you are putting your body through a lot of work and trouble. There are several things you can do and bring with you on your trips to ensure that your day goes smoothly and you continue to have positive experiences with the sport. A back pack is always an important piece of equipment when embarking on a mountain bike adventure. A camel back or a mule is also a fine idea; however, a back pack is favourable because you are able to pack many other necessities rather than lugging them around. A back pack will be useful for holding waterproof jackets, food, extra water, tire pump, new inner tubes, and other bike tools. It is important that you don’t neglect your body when you are asking it to work so hard for you on your mountain biking trip. You will need to bring at least two liters of water with you so that you don’t risk becoming dehydrated on your trip. Symptoms of dehydration can include headaches, nausea, and loss of consciousness; none of these symptoms will do anything to enhance your day out on your bike. You must also remember to pack a well balanced lunch. Sandwiches and energy bars are light, portable and healthy. Among the more important bike tools is the tire pump. While they can be awkward to haul around, you must realize that the mini ones are just a waste of time, space and money. Bring something of a proper size that you know is going to do the job correctly, even if it means lugging around some extra weight. The last item of importance that often gets overlooked is a first aid kit. There is nothing to ruin a perfectly good day like a serious injury and no tools to help the injured person. Pack bandages, ice packs, tourniquets, antiseptic and change for a telephone. Everything listed is important to your day and your sport because it will help stave off anything that can go truly wrong with the day. If you have ever had trouble while mountain biking you probably understand that most of the items mentioned are paramount to getting out of trouble, if you have never had any trouble whilst mountain biking you have been lucky and should do your best from now on to be prepared. |
